Halloween our style.

I know there are a lot of Halloween lovers out there but I'm not one of them. I was particularly grumpy on Saturday afternoon anticipating the march through the streets of Daylesford with three sticky, sugar filled, grumpy children banging on doors and begging for treats.

When Bren suggested we have our own party and make up our own traditions I didn't believe he would be able to convince the girls and couldn't believe how happy it made me when he did.

After Indi dressed us all up and painted our faces, I pretended to be the mother (?) and they trick or treated me.

Then we went for a walk through the bush to discover this bad, mean character.

Lucky we live on an egg farm as we just happened to have a crate of old, cracked and dirty eggs awaiting composting.

We took turns chucking these eggs at that bad man.

Lucky the neighbours are miles away because there was plenty of screaming going on.

When we came home we played three legged races, sack races and potato on a spoon races.

I think it was the only time in my entire life that I wished it was pumpkin season as I would love to have a go at carving one of those things.

We all agreed it was the best Halloween ever and the only tears were when the cheap face paint I'd bought didn't come off without scouring their faces.
