four becomes five
Ahhh hello hello honey bunches!
How have you been?
I’m good. I’m actually on the other side of the world from last time I wrote. It’s so weird how we can do that; one minute we’re picking Brussel sprouts in the depths of winter on our little farm at the bottom of mainland Australia, and then after one night in a hotel room at Melbourne airport and 23 hours in two planes later, here we are in HOT summer in Israel in the Middle East.
The first morning after we arrived we ate breakfast at a cafe we stumbled across and waited for the text to let us know that our Jazzy had arrived home from the summer camp she’d been leading on. As soon as it arrived we paid up and started walking up the giant hill to her place. While looking for numbers on buildings someone looked up and there she was.
It felt like a dream five months in the making. We screamed and ran up her stairs, we all hugged her, I cried, we met some of her friends, we got a tour of her place, and we hugged her some more. It felt emotional and exciting and intense and normal all at the same time.
Over the past few days we’ve walked up and down this massive hill we’re living on a million times, we’ve shared meals and stories and songs, we’ve spent time with her friends, we’ve visited food markets and treasure markets, and we’ve explored this beautiful ancient city of Haifa. I’ve posted so many pictures on my instagram stories but haven’t really taken many on my proper camera. I’m going to try and take more. I’m dying to show you this incredible apartment we’re staying in.
But for now I’m going to say goodbye. Jazzy and her friend are going to make us dinner, but before that me and Bren are going to walk down to the market to get the ingredients.
We’re here for two more weeks so I’ll be back soon with some more photos and stories.
Sending love to you wherever you are out there.
I hope you have a lovely weekend planned and that you get a hug from someone you love.
Love, Kate x
